GRACIE, was born into rescue on April 14, xxxx. She is a Chestnut Quarter Horse cross. She currently weighs 700pds and stands 13.5 hands. She is 19 months old. She is UTD on all her Vaccinations, done 11/7/xxxx --Coggins--11/7/14 Gracie has had a hard time of it,both of her parents were owner surrendered into SOS in October xxxx. And she was born with Juvenile Cataracts in both eyes, which was noticed by her foster mom in June xxxx when Grace was noticed bumping into things and her eyes were cloudy. Thankfully, the university in Jackson, MS, the Equestirian Ctr took Gracie as a Text Book Documented Case study and they performed surgery on Grace in December xxxx. Upon her followup on Jan 14, 14, it was declared the surgery was a success. Grace and her mother, was adopted Jan 30, 14, but due to unacceptable circumstances Grace was reclaimed into rescue at SOS May 17, xxxx. She was emaciated, had rain rot and was sunburned. Her foster mom again took up care and attention and brought her back to health. August 9, xxxx, Gracie was brought to thebradfordrescuerance and she is flourishing. She has adapted to being in a herd. She is becoming more self assured and confident it her surroundings and her self daily. Gracie loves to touch or be touched which stems from being blind first part of her life but she has now learned to walk with or behind not on her person. She is no longer aggressive for feed. She is a gentle and sweet horse who is very eager to please and enjoys being groomed. She stands for Grooming during, before and after feeding time. Has no bad habits when you rub/touch ears, eyes or belly. Gracie stands for Ferrier. Good Feet. She Leads and Loads well. And is learning her groundwork.
